Flotation is a method used to separate solid or liquid particles in insoluble form out of liquid phase based on change the solubility of different pressure. In some case, this process is also used to separate dissolved particles such as surfactant. In the industrial wastewater treatment, flotation process is often used to separate suspended substances, grease.

Flotation is done by adding air bubbles into the liquid phase. The air is dissolved under pressure in a clean liquid and pumped directly into the dissolved air flotation. After entering the tank, air pressure is created and combined with the liquid, saturated with very small sized air bubbles. The tiny air bubbles stick to the suspended solid in the water and lift the suspended particles to the surface of the liquid, formed the floating layer and removed by the scraper. Heavy sediment will settle to the bottom of the tank, taken out of the tank to the sludge tank.

WHAT DO WE NOTE WHEN CHOOSING UV DISINFECTION SOLUTION?
+ With different species of microorganisms, level of sensitivity to UVC radiation is also different because of the membrane structure of that microorganism. Therefore, it is should considerated choosing the necessary UV dose that can inactive the microorganism species that the plant is facing.
+ Metallic ions and organic acids in water have the ability to absorb radiation of UVC rays, hence effectiveness of UVC light transmission is decreased even we feel water is very clean.
+ Turbidity of water affects strong the effectiveness of UV light transmission. When the turbidity of water increases, much suspended solid in the water will scatter, absorb UV light, therefore effectiveness of UV disinfection is decreased.
